CDA Apprentices (Teachers Assistants)

Position Descriptions

Implement curriculum, and early learning content standards to develop lifelong learners in a professional, safe, nurturing, clean and developmentally appropriate environment.
Key Responsibilities; Teacher Assistants are responsible for:
Implementing learning content standards
Continuing to be learners, completing all required initial training’s and 20 biannual hours of SUTQ training’s.
Assist and document for developmental screenings. (utilizing Ages & Stages).
Assist with writing and implementing lesson plans based on early learning content standards and center based curriculum themes.
Assist with performing assessments utilizing, Teaching Strategy Gold.
Continual parent communication/Parent conferences/transition meetings
Understand and implement Step Up to Quality guidelines
Ensuring compliance for all monitoring agencies, including all CACFP duties (this includes cleaning kitchen)
Ensuring positive involvement and communication with parents and families
Working cooperatively within the community.
Meeting each individual child’s needs with documentation (including toileting)
Most importantly, creating a positive, safe, learning environment in their classrooms, developing students who are lifelong learners.
